Solent Marine won the contract to design and supply the Fisherman's berthing pontoons. The specification is very high for the pontoons in terms of impact loads, however Solent Marine can and will build anything to meet the criteria. "I am personally pleased Solent Marine won the contract to supply Newlyn Harbour's pontoon. It was a difficult tendering period, originally the moorings were to be on a elastic rubber anchored system, however the client changed their mind late on in the process and decided that a piled system would be far more robust and last longer without the maintenance issues.
